If you’re looking for a Geography tutor who knows the subject inside out but can also make it interesting, I could be a good fit.

I have taught GCSE and A Level Geography since 2001, spending 16 years in state education and the last 9 years in the independent sector. I have also been a Head of Geography for 6 years and Head of Humanities for 9 years, giving me extensive experience of both teaching and supporting students to achieve their very best.

My approach is straightforward: build confidence, make Geography relevant and then focus on getting the grades. I don’t believe tutoring should simply mean working through endless exam questions. I like to use real-world examples, current events, travel and discussion to make topics memorable and help students understand rather than simply memorise.

Outside school, I’m heavily involved in sport and regularly coach rugby. I really enjoy helping young people develop confidence, decision-making and resilience — qualities that are just as important in the classroom as they are on the sports field.

I’m also a keen traveller and music fan, so I have plenty of interests outside Geography and enjoy getting to know my students as individuals.

Whether a student needs to catch up, improve their exam technique, push for the top grades or simply become more confident in Geography, my aim is to provide relaxed, supportive and purposeful lessons that make a genuine difference
